As a metaphysical practitioner, I have been asked a number of times by different individuals who primarily use masculine energy how they would know they are using intuition and how they would recognise it. Unfortunately, I never had a full answer for them because whenever I thought about it, the explanations that came to mind seemed more aligned with what we usually tell those who utilise feminine energy primarily. We often describe intuition through receptivity, bodily sensations, inner knowing, emotional shifts, stillness or simply allowing information to come through yet that does not necessarily explain how someone who functions primarily through masculine energy experiences the same intuitive process. With this realisation, I decided a few weeks ago to ask the angels I communicate with for a clearer answer. Today (25TH Aug), I finally received a response from Archangel Metatron, and this article is regarding that message. I have included the direct interpreted translation below, while the complete original channelled message is preserved at the end of the article.
Before explaining further, I would like to remind the reader that masculine and feminine energy have nothing to do with human reproductive systems or gender identity. A male/man can operate predominantly through feminine energy, a female/woman can operate predominantly through masculine energy and someone of any gender identity can utilise both in different ways. Within the esoteric view I am using here, masculine and feminine describe energetic tendencies and different ways of processing or expressing information. That is, feminine energy is generally more receptive and may remain consciously aware of what is being sensed while masculine energy tends to be more directional, active and focused on what to do with the information it has received. Therefore, this is not a discussion about how men experience intuition compared to women. It is specifically about how intuition may function when someone’s primary energetic orientation is masculine.
Direct Interpreted Translation
Do not mistake directed force for intuition itself. The active principle receives what has already been sensed. What is perceived internally is carried into direction, and intuition is recognised through how that direction expresses itself.
Separate the signal from what you intend to make of it. Desire and deliberate thought can interfere with what was first received. Allow the signal to establish its direction before acting. Movement then reveals whether the perception remains true. What is genuinely intuitive remains identifiable through the action that follows it.
Do not claim the direction before it reveals itself. Masculine energy accesses intuition by moving with what has been received but not by creating the answer through force. Let the signal remain present as circumstances develop. Action exposes the difference between true direction and imposed intention. What continues through movement without losing its original orientation is the intuitive path.
When Intuition Happens in the Subconscious
One of the most important things I took from Metatron’s response is that those who primarily utilise masculine energy may already be receiving intuitive information without consciously recognising the receptive stage. The information seems to register and begin processing at a subconscious level before reaching conscious awareness. Someone who primarily utilises feminine energy may be more aware of the actual reception itself through a bodily sensation, emotional shift, inner knowing, image or subtle sense that something has changed. However, someone operating predominantly through masculine energy may not consciously notice any of that. Instead, they become aware of the information once it has already developed into direction. They may suddenly know to check something, wait before making a decision, ask a particular question, investigate an option or avoid moving forward without consciously recognizing, I am receiving intuition. In other words, the intuitive information may be received beneath awareness while the resulting direction is what becomes conscious.
This may explain why some people with primarily masculine energy believe they are not intuitive at all. If they compare their experiences with descriptions centred on consciously feeling or sensing intuition, they may spend their time searching for an internal sensation that is not how their intuition normally reaches conscious awareness. Their experience may instead look much more mundane from the outside: they simply act. For example, someone double-checks one particular detail and discovers an error, someone unexpectedly decides not to commit to something and later learns information that explains their hesitation or someone asks a question without initially knowing why that question seemed important. The conscious mind experiences the action or direction, while the intuitive information that influenced it may have already been processed subconsciously. Therefore, recognising masculine intuition can involve looking at where certain unexplained directions originate instead of waiting for a consciously identifiable intuitive feeling.
Direction is Not Automatically Intuition
However, this is also why Metatron’s statement, “Do not mistake directed force for intuition itself,” is essential. Masculine energy naturally creates movement, focus and direction yet intuition is not the only thing capable of producing those experiences. Fear can influence someone to leave, desire can influence someone to pursue, anxiety can influence someone to check repeatedly and impatience can make immediate action feel necessary. Personal expectations can also create an answer before any intuitive information has actually been received. The distinction may depend partly on sequence. Intuitive direction develops from information that has already processed even when that information has remained subconscious. Projection begins with the outcome the person already wants, fears or expects and then attempts to interpret everything that follows in a way that supports it. Therefore, the strength of an urge is not what makes something intuitive. What is important is whether the direction emerged from information or the person imposed a direction first.
Consider someone speaking with another person and unexpectedly feeling the need to ask one more question before agreeing to something. They may not consciously know why yet small inconsistencies, changes in tone or other information could already have registered at a subconscious level. The intuition does not necessarily tell them, This person is lying. That would already be an interpretation. The intuitive direction may simply be, Ask another question. Once they act on that direction, the response may reveal why the hesitation happened. This distinction is important because masculine intuition does not necessarily deliver a complete explanation before directing someone towards relevant information. Sometimes it identifies where attention needs to go while conscious understanding develops afterwards.
Action As Part of Discernment
This is where the action-oriented nature of masculine energy can become useful. Appropriate movement can provide additional information and help clarify what the original direction was pointing towards. If someone feels directed to investigate an opportunity, they can research it. If something prompts them to question a detail, they can check it. If their intuition suggests waiting before making a commitment, allowing more time may reveal information that was previously unavailable. The action does not need to be significant nor does following intuition mean reorganising one’s life around every unexplained impulse. A decisive action allows the person to interact with the direction while remaining open to whatever reality reveals. Masculine energy, therefore, does not need to suppress its natural inclination towards movement; it simply needs to ensure that the movement follows the information instead of overpowering it.

What happens next can then help distinguish intuition from projection. When an intuitive direction has useful interpretation, additional information may clarify or refine the original perception without completely overturning its underlying orientation. The person may initially misunderstand why something deserves attention while still being correct that attention was needed there. Projection behaves differently because it generally requires the person to keep protecting a predetermined conclusion. That is, contradictory information is consistently denied, new circumstances are repeatedly reshaped to fit the desired outcome and the direction changes whenever necessary to preserve what the person already wanted to believe. Intuitive information can adapt and be more flexible as more information is known without requiring that kind of constant defence. This consistency through movement may be one of the clearest ways masculine energy eventually recognises that an intuitive process occurred.
Recognising Masculine Intuition in Daily Life
For those who primarily utilise masculine energy, becoming more consciously aware of intuition may involve observing patterns that already exist. Instead of trying to force a more consciously receptive experience, it may be more useful to look backwards from the moments when direction appeared. What made you check that particular detail? Why did you suddenly hesitate? Why did your attention repeatedly return to one possibility? Why did you contact someone before consciously knowing there was a reason to do so? There can, of course, be psychological explanations for these experiences such as subconscious pattern recognition since not every unexplained action should be given a spiritual interpretation. However, observing repeated patterns can help someone distinguish the quality of intuitive direction from anxiety, desire or deliberation. Anxiety often contains urgency and threat while desire tends to pull information towards whatever outcome is preferred. Intuitive direction may be much simpler such as: look here, ask, wait, check, continue, stop.
In conclusion, the process I take from Metatron’s response is: subconscious reception, conscious direction, discernment through action and recognition through consistency. Masculine energy may not always consciously experience the moment intuition enters awareness because much of the initial processing can occur within the subconscious mind. What becomes noticeable is the process that follows: something directs attention, movement or action before the reasoning has fully developed. This means those who primarily utilise masculine energy may already be using intuition far more often than they can recognise. They do not need to imitate a more feminine intuitive expression in order to recognise it. Intuition provides the information, masculine energy translates that information into direction and appropriate action helps reveal what that direction was pointing towards.
